The Membership & Publicity Committee helps connect neighbors, share information, and build the sense of community that makes Harleston Village one of Charleston’s most special neighborhoods.
Whether you are a long-time resident, a new neighbor, a renter, or a property owner, there are many ways to stay informed, get involved, and help shape the future of our community.

Flood & Resilience – Advocate for improved drainage, flooding mitigation, storm response, and long-term resiliency projects.
Zoning & BAR – Monitor development proposals and preservation matters that affect the character of Harleston Village.
Livability – Help address issues involving sidewalks, streets, traffic, parking, trees, and neighborhood quality of life.
Membership & Publicity – Assist with community events, communications, social media, newsletters, and welcoming new neighbors.
Hearts & Hands – Participate in volunteer and charitable initiatives that support local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations.

Recent Accomplishments
Since 2025, the Membership & Publicity Committee has helped:
• Grow HVA membership from approximately 60 members to more than 230 members
• Establish and expand the popular Garden Party Series
• Launch and grow HVA’s Instagram presence
• Restore and reactivate the Association’s Facebook presence
• Publish regular newsletters and neighborhood updates
• Create Harleston Hearts & Hands volunteer initiatives
• Organize community service projects supporting Memminger Elementary, the College of Charleston Food Pantry, and Fisher House
