Music in the Parks: a record spring season

Our spring Music in the Parks series wrapped with a spectacular finale at Moultrie Park — roughly 300 neighbors, nearly 200 free popsicles, and three local vendors. In just two years the series has grown from one park to three.

What a season. The Harleston Village Association’s spring Music in the Parks series wrapped up with a spectacular finale at Moultrie Park & Playground — perfect weather, a wonderful crowd, and exactly the kind of evening that turns a neighborhood into a community.

A community favorite, growing fast

Music in the Parks started as a single evening — our inaugural Jazz in the Park the previous fall, presented in partnership with the Charleston Parks Conservancy — and the response was so strong that it grew into a full spring series. In just two years, it has expanded from one park to three and welcomed more than 600 residents across all three events.

The finale at Moultrie was a fitting capstone: live music, neighbors of every age spread out on the lawn, and three terrific local vendors keeping everyone fed and happy —

Thank you

Events like this happen because neighbors show up — and because HVA members make them possible. Music in the Parks is free to attend, funded by the Association and powered by volunteers. To everyone who came out, brought a chair, and shared the evening: thank you.

The series returns this fall

Mark your calendar — Music in the Parks comes back Thursday, September 10 at Moultrie Park & Playground (41 Ashley Ave). See the full lineup of neighborhood events on our Events page, and if you’d like to keep gatherings like this going, become a member.
