Zoning and BAR Committee:

• 115 Wentworth (Baba’s): Joe to follow up with BZA on parking variance and neighborhood impact, including suggested operating hour conditions.

• 131 Wentworth (J&W Corner Store): Wiley to monitor zoning variance issues, and Chuck to address livability concerns with the city regarding trash and operating hours.

• 91 Montagu: No immediate action required; decision pending advice from Carter Hudgins.

Membership Committee:

• Goals Meeting: Megan to schedule and lead a meeting next week to brainstorm goals and engagement strategies.

• Neighbor Collaboration: Sync with Neighbor-to-Neighbor to avoid scheduling conflicts.

• Membership Drive: Organize events like an oyster roast or fundraiser.

• Social Media: Increase communication about events and updates via social platforms.

Parks Committee:

• Collaborations: Ashley to schedule meetings with Charleston Parks Conservancy and city officials.

• Programs: Promote composting at Moultrie Park and sustainable planting initiatives with Master Gardeners.

• Maintenance Assessment: Evaluate the conditions of Harleston Village parks, particularly smaller ones like Logan Street Park.

Livability Committee:

• Neighborhood Maintenance: Conduct a walking tour to identify issues with sidewalks, crosswalks, and potholes. Promote the Charleston Trash Tracker app.

• Flood Prevention: Advocate for the Adopt A Storm Drain program.

• Parking System: Address resident concerns about changes to parking permit systems.

Flood and Resilience Committee:

• Storm Drain Management: Encourage residents to adopt and maintain storm drains.

• Flood Preparedness: Enhance communication about flooding events and resources like garage access.

• Community Forum: Plan a forum to discuss the city’s comprehensive water plan.

Technology Update: Promote website use for membership sign-ups and dues payments, track and report membership growth, use newsletters to keep members informed, and train board members on using Google Workspace for operations

• The Board approved moving regular meetings to the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM, excluding July and August. Membership meetings will occur in Spring and Fall.
